Purpose-Led Trade

Our Impact

Trade that strengthens communities, preserves culture, and creates lasting economic opportunity. Every product on our platform tells a story of people, craft, and purpose.

What We Stand For

Commerce With Conscience

Spaza Global exists to build a structured trade corridor between Southern African producers and global markets. We don't just connect — we invest in the infrastructure, compliance, and relationships that make trade sustainable and dignified for everyone involved.

Stories From the Ground

Lesotho highlands

The Basotho Hat Makers of Lesotho

In the highlands of Lesotho, local women have been crafting the iconic Basotho Mokorotlo hats for generations — a tradition passed from mother to daughter. Through Spaza Global, these artisans can now supply luxury hospitality brands across Europe, the Caribbean and further, turning heritage craft into sustainable livelihoods without leaving their communities.

Vibrant Zulu beadwork being crafted by hand

From the Heart of KwaZulu-Natal to International Trade Fairs

Rural women in KwaZulu-Natal travel to town to collect orders for handcrafted beadwork and fabric goods — products that may end up at corporate conferences in London, Dubai, and New York. Most delegates will never know that the pouch in their welcome pack was stitched by a woman whose income now supports her children's education. Their stories have meaning — and we want every product to carry that story forward.

Our Commitment

Four Pillars of Responsible Trade

Community

  • Direct partnerships with rural cooperatives
  • Revenue flows back to source communities
  • Cultural preservation through commercial demand

People

  • Women-led supplier prioritisation
  • Youth skills development and mentorship
  • Fair pricing that reflects true craft value

Environment

  • Dual shipping from SA & UK reduces last-mile distances
  • Consolidated shipments lower per-unit emissions
  • Supporting producers who blend artisan and sustainable methods
  • Every order contributes to our tree-planting initiative

Governance

  • Transparent supply chain
  • Certificate of Origin verification
  • Compliance-first approach to exports

On carbon footprint: We acknowledge that international shipping has an environmental cost. Our dual-origin model (SA & UK) reduces last-mile distances. We consolidate shipments to lower per-unit emissions. Our suppliers range from artisan hand-producers to established manufacturers — all verified for quality and fair practices. We are building tools to track and report our trade footprint, with the aim of continuous improvement across our supply chain.

One Order, One Tree

For every order placed through Spaza Global, we plant a tree in partnership with reforestation initiatives in Southern Africa.
