Pre-Departure Checklist

Complete these steps before your MAPS Expedition departure.

Complete SARS Online Traveller Declaration

MANDATORY

From 1 July 2026, all travellers entering or leaving South Africa must complete an online customs declaration via the SATMS system. Submit no more than 24 hours before departure.

Valid Passport

Ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates with at least 2 blank pages.

Visa Requirements

Check if you require a visa for South Africa. UK and EU citizens typically receive a visa on arrival for business trips under 90 days.

Travel Insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance covering medical, cancellation, and personal belongings is required for all participants.

Visitor Safety

Your safety is our priority. All transport, accommodation, and supplier visits are pre-vetted by our local team. Detailed safety guidance and emergency contacts are included in your welcome pack.

Flights Booked

Book your flights to the designated arrival airport. We will provide recommended flight options upon booking confirmation.

NDA & Participation Agreement

Sign and return the expedition NDA and participation agreement sent with your booking confirmation.

Expedition Welcome Pack

Your digital welcome pack with full itinerary, supplier profiles, and packing list will be sent 2 weeks before departure.
